The SPAS-12 (Special Purpose Automatic Shotgun Model 12) is a combat shotgun made by Italian firearms manufacturer Luigi Franchi S.P.A. from 1979 to 2000. It operates in pump action and semi-auto fire mode. The weapon is recognizable by its modern all-black finish by default, a top-folding stock with a hook meant to be fit under the shooter's forearm for additional support, a blocky heat shield with rectangular perforations and an overall imposing profile.
The SPAS-12 is used by many police and special forces worldwide. It also appears prominently in many action movies, such as The Terminator, Jurassic Park, and others.
