    スーザフォン

A type of tuba with conical tubing that is widely used in marching bands. It is designed in a way that fits around the body of the tubist. While the valves are near chest level, the bell is above the player's head. It was developed in the 1890s by one J.W. Pepper at the request of John Philip Sousa (1854–1932), the legendary American marching band director and composer, who wanted a tuba that was easier and more comfortable to march with than the types then in common use.
