The protagonist of Rozen Maiden. A middle school hikikomori fascinated with dolls who unwittingly becomes Shinku's master. He is short-tempered and reclusive due to the pressure he feels from being lonely, with only his sister Sakurada Nori and classmate Kashiwaba Tomoe being able to talk to him.

He has short black hair with parted bangs and wears black-framed glasses. He usually wears a blue or white hoodie with the hood down with long sleeves and blue pants.

In the unwound world, he has dyed his hair brown and a wears a collared white shirt.
