A type of underwear constructed much like boxer shorts worn by women. Most bloomers, unlike boxers, are gathered at the bottom of the legs. Often bloomers will be decorated with ribbon or frills at the waist and legs. In Japanese they are sometimes translated as kabopan or "pumpkin pants".
Not to be confused with buruma, an English to Japanese to English translation of bloomer, usually identifying an over-panty, or a public garment whose purpose is to cover the panty and crotch area while leaving the maximum maneuvering room.
While bloomers originally served as underwear, they are not necessarily considered underwear now. Traditional bloomers can go all the way to the knees or shins, and don't resemble typical underwear in the present day. Shorter bloomers can be worn as regular shorts or safety shorts. These shouldn't be tagged as underwear nor pantyshot. Note that this doesn't mean they can't be sensitive, rating:S and tags like upskirt still apply.
