Japan really got done dirty in this year's L'Arc. Both the bad weather and the absolutely terrible luck in drawing gate numbers (Croix ending up with with the outermost gate. And Byzantine also getting the third outermost one.)
Croix actually lead the pack for most of the race but lost steam in the final straight. Pulling a Twin Turbo, basically, which is strange considering he doesn't usually go with the Front Runner strategy.
At least Byzantine Dream managed to pull a comeback of sorts, ending with 5th. But Croix and Alohi finishing 14th and 16th... oof, even Golshi halfassing years ago finished at a better position (14th with more total participants). Daryz and Sosie sure got their revenge for their earlier defeats against Croix and Byzantine in the Prix du Prince d'Orange and Prix Foy on the same racecourse.
(If only the weather was the same as it was earlier... sigh...)

It is annoying that the heavy squal occured RIGHT during the race, I don't think even the horses and jockeys were expecting it. Totally big ass jinx...
