But that's the funny part: it isn't! Unless you have a card that is not Visa or Mastercard, which, in Europe is barely a thing in a select few countries.
And Paypal is no good either.

Can someone point me in the direction of a solution to this conundrum? Because from time to time I see paywalled material posted here and there, including by people who are definitely not japanese, nor live in japan, but nobody is willing to explain how they get around or through paywalls, willing to take paid requests for posting stuff at best.
