Fun fact: Akanko had a bad habit of leaning left when running. During his last run in Hong Kong Vase 2001, which was a clockwise race, instead of leaning left like he normally do, he leaned right with the pack as they exited the last corner, to the point where he nearly made contact with the railing as it overtook the pack to reach 2nd placement, before overtaking Ekraar by a head, and finally winning his first and last G1 victory.
