Both the lower right and artist's commentary clearly stated it's a crossover...

Which was already acknowledged by ngo enthusiast and doesn't answer the original question. Why would you expect someone unfamiliar with Fate to know what a command spell is?

ngo is a contributor level user.

They should have the full knowledge of tags and able to interpret both artistic commentaries and the image itself to extract enough information to surmise that this piece of art was a crossover. It's clearly stated on the picture itself, and the chance that they never saw the 'FATE' tag during all their time in Danbooru is almost impossible unless they only uploaded and never browsed either the gallery or the commentaries section. In fact, they already have 4 other entries from the FATE series uploaded other than this one; is it really considered to be unfamiliar? A little cross-referencing to other FATE post should be easy enough to know what a command spell was, since it's a really integral piece of FATE's lore.

They should, and they did. They were the ones that added the Fate (Series) and crossover tags in the first place. Nothing they said suggests they didn't recognize the image as a crossover. I don't know why you're choosing to double down on this point. It's extremely obvious the question was about the tattoo and not about whether the image is depicting a crossover or not.

Uploading a few posts from a copyright does not make one an expert on that copyright. One of the comments they made under one of those uploads (post #10273545) shows unfamiliarity with the characters and suggests they did attempt to cross-reference them. But it's easier to do this with characters than it is with nondescript hand tattoos, especially when they have nonintuitive names like command spell.

Now I will say that if one suspects a hand tattoo in Fate (Series) may have a unique tag, then doing a search for "Fate hand tattoo" in Google would quickly show what it's called. But if you had an issue with users asking questions that can be quickly solved with a well-thought-out Google search, you could've simply said that instead of wasting time criticizing people for asking questions they never even asked.

If they already know that image is a crossover and the tattoo wasn't from ORV series, then it's really easy to guess that it comes from FATE series, no?

You can use Danbooru own search, which would be more accurate and in-topic compared to google's and it already shows it in 5 pictures. Fate (Series) red tattoo gives you post #9616903 as 5th result, which namedropped command spell directly on the dialogue page. Using Fate (Series) hand_tattoo gives you (at present) that same post at #10. Doesn't need to even take the query out from the site.

The question and critic here is 'why a contributor level user doesn't even have that logical thought process to complete tagging something that they uploaded'. If anyone uploaded a picture, it became their own responsibility on how to tag it correctly, all tiers of members without exception. If you don't know what the tag to use in that picture, you cross-reference it to other picture, that's logical. Yes, other members can fill in on particular regard, but generally it's your own responsibility instead of passing the ball.

Ngo is not a Contributor, they're a Builder. At least recognize the difference if you're going to get pissy about user levels.

More importantly, it is not the responsibility of anyone, regardless of level, to have knowledge of every single tag, be autistically familiar with every single copyright, and tag every post they upload with 100% of the potentially applicable tags. The site is a community effort. The entire reason anyone can edit tags is so that no one person has to be responsible for absolutely everything. Why do you think tags like character request exist?

Instead of being an asshole, you could've just added the tag and said, "It's command spell. I tagged it." Ngo has done nothing worth being criticized for. Get off your high horse.

People shouldn't be made to feel stupid for asking a question, and along those lines someone saying they're not familiar with something and don't know how to tag it shouldn't be made to feel stupid for that either. Help with tagging is part of the community and building the website, a polite response informing them of the tag and tagging it should be the norm in my opinion.
