I'm gonna be blunt, attempts to make a nice version of the original EASY MODO tend to just piss me off more than feel encouraging.

They only make sense if you've seen the original disparaging version first, so rather than replacing it, it just enforces the latter as a fundamental piece of the fandom. And they always, always, a l w a y s come off as insultingly patronizing.

It always feels like they exist not to supplant the original with a better message, or encourage new players, but to frame the poster as a Certified Nice Person without requiring them to do anything concrete in the process.

The body language in this one makes it seem like it was meant to be patronizing. It looks to me like they're faking being impressed in an attempt to spare the player's feelings.

I agree, it stings precisely because they're trying to be kind. To the point that it becomes humorous, even.

If it was meant to be encouraging, they would surely act much more earnestly or supportive than this.
