“Soft glow — and an experiment”
In this piece, I used fluorescent pigments for the first time. I really wanted to try them. Honestly, in daylight the result looks almost the same as when I use fluorescent acrylics. So far, nothing dramatically different.
But—
I created additional texture in the sky — relief waves so that the glow could be felt not only through color, but through surface. And that part turned out truly interesting. Dark pearlescent tones, deep layers, soft transitions — the sky feels alive, almost moving.
As for the glow-in-the-dark pigment…
I didn’t hold back.
If in my previous Northern Lights paintings the night glow was delicate and harmonious, with many оттенки and subtle color variations, here it’s just one pigment — and a lot of it. The glow feels stronger, rougher, more direct.
Sometimes an experiment is not about perfect harmony.
Sometimes it’s about daring to take a step and see what happens next.
And I will definitely continue exploring light 🌌
