The creators and staff on Persona reached the consensus that Kanji is bi.

Kanji does like dudes - they just "made it subtler" in the American translations and put up a smoke screen of "we make a game, you decide" when pressed about it because they were afraid that American anti-gay sentiments would make the game sell worse if they actually just out-and-out told you.
