Lulz, I saw the original non-colored version of this only 6 hours ago and hoped that it'd be colored....I guess wishes do come true every now and then.

At the moment your first assumption is correct and the only way to acquire the image is to buy the Volume....But the non-colored original image should still be scanned within the month, as the Volumes for this series are put up on the Internet consistently.
So if you search the net sometime in the next two weeks you'll probably find the Raw Volume for download.
