With a est. 40 hrs a week that's about 120$ a hour. Other than what you have to learn and the costs of school at the beginning, and with a professional attitude; I'd say what they have to deal with is the least of their concerns.

its defiantly not a glamorous job specially if you have to deal with some serious diseases, being able to tell him/her that they are gonna die wouldn't be fun
