I've been playing through Metroid Fusion lately (thank you Ambassador Program) and I was inspired to do some more Samus fanart. Last time I drew Samus looking tough so I went a different route with this one. Also the more detail I added to the metroid, the less clean and cuddly it looked.

By the way, that thing she's sitting on is one of those pillars that pop up, seemingly out of nowhere, when you bomb certain spots on the ground.
