People that played bf3, is that some kind of explosive she's throwing?

Compared to the rest of the image, the flashbang isn't that well drawn. Is that supposed to be showing the motion while it's tossed, or was that a bit of laziness on the artists part?

Perhaps it's a scene in the single player mode? I beat the game many months ago, but I can't recall a scene like this one. Was BF3 in the pixiv tags?
