In hindsight, it wasn't so bad, though. Akane sure gets put through the wringer quite a bit, but, while she becomes more cynical and pretty tough, she never loses her idealism. Her ability to always stand up, no matter how hard she gets beaten down is remarkable even in-universe, as it causes her to have a pretty stable hue even in situations where others would become a "latent criminal".
A very surprising character, coming from the Urobutcher.
