    Might actually be canon someday.

    one of the design books mentioned that in Timeline 2, Gretchen created a barrier "safe zone" for Sayaka, even as she consumes the rest of the universe.

    Urobuchi said that they planned to create spin-offs based around failed timelines. This would be a heck of a story if they explored it.
