Surströmming AND salmiakki? This isn't cooking, it's chemical warfare.
Salmiakki might not be nearly as foul-smelling as surströmming, but the sharp taste means it can be somewhat of an acquired taste. It also has a laxative effect if you eat too much.

Acquired taste? I love Salmiakki its not even strong, especially that brand she is using.

I love the stuff, but then again I grew up with it. I imagine people who are not from northern Europe or the Netherlands could have some problems with it.

VERY MUCH an acquired taste. Ammonia Chloride is not something most people are used to.
