Pixiv deleting metadata starts to get really annoying...
Just click the "Similar" button (next to the Source) before you upload. It will tell you of any highly similar images to the one you're trying to upload.
I know, but this tends to be quite slow for some reason, so most of the time I just look at the first page of the artist at danbooru. I'd really appreciate a modified md5 check...
