Last time I had a bone fracture (in the wrist, no less), it took me 6 weeks in a hard cast. Keep weight off that foot, Kogasa-san!

I tend to forget that some people have weaker bones than others.

He's not lying about the kotatsu. I love mine. My cats love it too. When I moved in with my mother she asked what it was and I explained it to her. She couldn't understand why anyone would want such a thing and was dismissive of the idea. Then winter rolls around and I set it up in the living room. One day later she loves it and wants one of her own. The kotatsu is one of the best things and whoever invented it should have a holiday in their honor.

Technically, you can fracture cartilage too, but since the sinews or the muscle fibers snap first, I don't think it's that frequent.

However, based on how she hit her foot, and taking into account the extremely fucked-up network of tendons and ligaments in the ankle and the foot, I wouldn't put a cartilaginous fracture past the incident either. I'm fortunate in that I've never had a broken bone in my life. Still though, I don't envy Kogasauthor.

Well, we never did see what that "foot" was like under the sock and geta, so you may yet have a point there...

Back when I was in the military one of my fellows fell from the pull-up bar, landed on his elbow and fractured it. The military doc discharged him from the training program and gave him 3 months sick leave.

Also, back during my school days I have seen classmates who suffer fractures from their sports clubs and have to put on a cast for almost half a year.

While I am fortunate enough never to have suffered any fractures before, 1 month sounds like an extremely short time for Kogasa-san's fracture to heal compared to what I experienced.
