Well, kogasa-chan is the most characterized as amanojaku because she always wants to surprise but never does, I guess that's a "subconsciously classed" amanojaku on a different level
The whole opposite/not opposite switching out is a bit tricky to follow.
Best I can figure this last bit: • Kogasa, teasingly speaking in opposites, insults Kagerou, who gets upset. • Seija, trying to speak in opposites, says there's no hope for Kogasa as an amanojaku. (She means there is, since Kogasa got Kagerou upset.) • Kogasa agrees that yes, it's better that she has no chance of being one. • Seija, upset she got a positive reaction, tries reversing tack: She tells Kogasa and Kagerou they both do have chances of being amanojaku. She backs this up by truthfully pointing out contradictions between their respective species and natures. For Kogasa, this entails her being a scare-based youkai who never scares anyone. • Kogasa insists she does scare people, and by being so contrary, acts more like an amanojaku than Seija was just doing.
This reminds me of the running gag in JourneyQuest where the paladin sidekickifies the always-lying gargoyle thinking he's the always-truthful gargoyle.
Ah haI-I do too surprise everybody!Thank you...wait, is it okay for me to enjoy that honestly?Surpriiiise!I guess it's better that there's no hope for me as an amanojaku. It's not that there isn't! Ummm...You two do have promise!Me too?For a wolf, you're all kind and gentle. And for all your boogity-boogity-boo, you're an umbrella ghost not scary to anybody.Whaaaat?!You realize that right now, you're the most amanojaku-like of us, Kogasa?
