(She's a Gato-class as well, which would make her Albacore's little sister.)

Bonus points if she meets the destroyer Kuroshio. Or Tamanami.

There's nothing particularly remarkable about Mingo's service record, other than her later transfer to the JMSDF.

The Balao-class was an evolution of the Gato-class, I'm assuming that's why Kongou is confusing Albacore with Sealion.

Looking into it further, the major difference between the two classes is the Balao had a stronger pressure hull, allowing them to dive deeper. Otherwise they were nearly identical in design and appearance.
