For those not in the know, Nedelin was burned to death along with several other top soviet officals while waiting for crews to fuel a rocket that was using Nitric Acid and Hydrazine (they spontainously combust when they come in contact with one another.) This mix was so dangerous it was nicknamed 'Devil's Venom'. It didn't help that the crews were fatigued due to Nedelin's insistance the test be done before the October revolution celebrations so he could present Khrushchev with a working rocket.
