The walker's turret is based on that of the T-90A. The original 12 81mm launchers for 3D17 smoke grenades are visible, 6 on each side, as is the 6P49 Kord 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun next to the commander's head. (The main gun barrel is obviously different, and really, really short, as in 19th-century mortar short.) The glowing thing is one of two soft-kill IR jamming emitters of the TShU-1-7 Shtora-1 active protection system, and is one of the few glowing things you'll ever see in a sci-fi-y picture that actually glows in real life when active. (There's usually another one on the other side, but its place is taken by something that looks weirdly like a set of oversized American armored vehicle headlight components.)
