Now that is a badass fighter jet. I wonder what kind it was before it was converted?

The main landing gear design (and position), drop tank under the "engine"/mouth, and some other stuff are to me strongly reminiscent of an F-14.

indeed but the shape of the plane itself reminds me of a F-22

no wonder kanmusu planes can't keep up and need massive numbers.

it most likely a mix of both, it got the front and landing gear configuration of f-14 the tail got more looks of F-22, more look at it it might have a hint of the YF-23 back widow in there, so not sure tho

I don't see how there isn't really a shred of raptor in there aside vaguely from the canted tails every other design feature of that plane is a more or less direct adaption of the F-14: low slung intakes with a gap between, lifting body type fuselage, landing gear position, store positions, long nose extending forward of the intakes, and even the low hanging jaw could be argued to be a nod to the prominent electro-optical system hung just below the F-14's nose. It also just makes far more sense that the F-14 rather then a fighter that's never seen any naval service whatsoever would be the model.
