As funny as it might seem, it's one helluva disaster if a big one got set off from a spark like that. To make things worse, it's actually a common incident here where I am. Makes you wonder what they were thinking. (Then again, I mostly blame elevated blood alcohol level and the knucklehead's own obscure logic for most of those incidents.)

Fireworks kills about a dozen people per year, which is comparable with the chances of getting crushed to death by a vending machine (about 10-13 deaths per year).
