Shou-cuckoo is a happy and warm little puffball and Zui-cuckoo does not approve of roast turkey.

I'm guessing it comes in the same vein as Kaga always saying "I did it" with a nice strong jitome after doing something goofy or entirely incorrect.

When people say "we did our best," they mean they worked really hard to accomplish something, right? So by going through the strenuous process of mating with each other, through their hard work Zuikaku and Shoukaku made a lot of Shou-cuckoos and Zui-cuckoos. That is their accomplishment.
