Want to know who made this and I hope they do more, trying to remember what other ships carried weapons there was Kiso and Murakumo. Sendai and Jintsuu look like ninjas so maybe. Can't think of anymore weapon users well melee weapon users, would be interesting to see some brawlers like Ashigara or any other glove wearing professionals

As long as you allow the girls some kicks and "Close ranged" shooting, you could come up with some nice movesets for a 2D fighting game even with "Ranged characters". Heavy Arms in Gundam Battle Assault or Yukari from P4Arena come to mind.

Hence all the standard carrier like Akagi and Kaga available, actually destroyers also can participate with movesets like noel from blazblue.
As of right now, in game CGs, there are Ise, Hyuuga, Tenryuu, Tatsuta, Murakumo (non-kai), Unryuu with a long pole, which is a kind of kungfu's blunt weapon or maybe it's a Shaolin's monks staff, considering its tip, can still be used as weapon nonetheless. Or maybe, it's just me.

Don't forget Murasame, she uses a chained anchor as a flail (post #1581184). Wo-class could possibly use her cane as a weapon too.
A polearm's ability to hold an enemy out of striking range trumps almost all attempts at close quarters combat. Even a master swordsman has a tough time fighting a competent polearm wielder and two users of equal skill would nearly always favor the polearm. As a result Tatsuta has an extreme weapon advantage.
Fortunately for Tenryuu, she's not even trying to capitalize on that advantage and is wielding her weapon as though it were a double-bladed sword, instead of a polearm or staff... Which does require more skill as you need to sacrifice speed and leverage for two striking surfaces, rather than use a single, faster, more powerful one. Which means Tatsuta also has a distinct skill advantage too.
Poor Tenryuu. She looks so cool, but even a quick analysis proves that Tatsuta's going really, really easy on her.

Of course, it's entirely possible that they're just putting on a show, in which case looking cool is the whole point and she's doing just fine. Lighten up, Francis. :)
