It's not that clear, but in the bottom panel of the 4koma, Aircraft Carrier Water Oni has gotten herself a noticeable tan (as opposed to her usual pallor complexion).

She's basically turned into a ganguro girl.

You'd think with how pale the Abyssal are they wouldn't be able to get a tan. They'd get sunburned.

Most people use tan-in-can instead of getting a real one.
