    Reptigirls: Colubridae edition

Snakes can be kept in basically the same way, so this time I've included the care instructions as a bonus. There are a lot of photos and stuff, so if you don't like that, be careful. I'll say it again: if you don't like snakes swallowing things whole, please be careful.

When it comes to Colubridae, I like San Francisco, rough and kunashir. Ribbon and Asian vine snake are also good, but weird snakes are a pain.

    Western Hog-nosed Snake
When it senses danger, it will flip over and "feign death."
Its English name means hog nose snake. As its name suggests, its snout is curved like a pig's. It has a short, cylindrical body and moves in a wriggling manner like a caterpillar.
These characteristics surprisingly fall into the "cute" category, so women like it a lot. Although it is a "popular" species, it is a unique snake in a good way.
In the wild, they mainly feed on frogs and other animals, and feeding them mice with more than fuzzy hair can cause stomach upset, so it is best to feed them new born mice or pieces of them.
Origin: United States Full length: 40 to 65 cm Diet: Frozen newborn mice, rats, etc. Average starting cost of keeping, including equipment: ~¥24,000
