I think they are forgetting what exactly Reisen powers are. And when she goes insane it is pretty much guaranteed that those that can be affected by her powers will be (not sure if strong will works, but it is possible that in that lapse of doubt Eirin had her will weakened enough for it to work on her)

When eirin claims herself that she is "The genius", it sounds like the one who called herself "the strongest".
