I don't think Brits are too good with hot weather in general. I think earlier this year there was a news story where a public water fight got started in London and a few people got stabbed over some ~86°F heat.

My first thought being, "That's it?"

Here in the South we have the parasol. You think of it as an antebellum thing, but I still see them occasionally in unironic use.
