Ironically when Italy capitulated in 1943, Germany was well in the process of proving aid in helping to produce their own panther tanks as the M45/44... Though as actual vehicles were concerned, the Italians never saw anything larger than the Mark IV from their German allies.
They did get a good number of Pershing tanks during the cold war however...
