Given its Japan, I am more inclined to believe she is shorter than expected than say the guy is 6'6" and the girl is 5'9".
It could be anything really, but I'd just like to point out 2m is quite a long guess. That is above average even in countries where people are taller.
Normally I'd agree, but I could easily believe that Reiji in particular is a veritable giant. Still, let's deduct, say, about 6 inches from those numbers, making her 5'3" and him 6 feet even. That'd put her about average, and him merely very big.

Thats why I said "close"...Despite the average height in my country being close to 170 (even less), it isn't that uncommon finding someone whose height is in excess of 190 cm (I'm more familiar with metric units than with inches and the like)
