This kinda makes me feel bad for struggling small businesses that need to give stuff away to get clientele.

Florists especially. At first when I walk in I stagger at the prices, then I ask how many people ACTUALLY go to a florist aside from rare occasions. Its a tough world in some fields of business. Some are smart though and incorpoarate with compatible businesses in order to draw in customers.
