That's entirely believable given the elemental monkeys are given in early game and unless you actually want to spend an evolution stone on them you'd never use their evolution.

And all three can be outclassed and replaced by the time you get to the fourth gym.

Well it's not that they're forsaken as much as actively hated on, in a generation already notorious for having some of the worst designs.

They're particularly hated for being "the same Pokemon", while only Simisage is the somewhat decent one with its good expression, pompadour, and relationship with Cilan.

Simipour shouldn't be much higher than Simisear I supposed, with the same horrid face and hair design, but at least its expression matches that of a water type while Simisear's face made it looks like a greater disgrace as a fire type. Not to mention Simipour at least have the honorable mention of being the most competitively viable out of the 3 monkeys.

Simisear just have all the bad elements of a gen 5 Pokemon piled onto it without any redeeming factors.
