    ご安心ください(笑)

    今日は函館で『東方華雪祭』が開催されます。
    参加されるみなさんよろしくです!

    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 2206

    I wondered if we wouldn't have been confused if that sound undulation-type explanation hadn't been there. I think it probably means that the ratio of the various states is in constant change relative to the total number of neutrinos they measure...but don't quote me on that. (^^);

And thus does today end the complicated discussion. Please rest easy. :-)

Touhou Kasetsu Festival is being held today in Hakodate. My regards to everyone attending!

To be fair, you can't explain sub-atomic particle physics with quantum mechanics in a ten minute slideshow to an essentially layperson audience.

Even this tidbit given by Kogasauthor flew miles over my head.

    If you think THAT'S confusing...
Quantum Fringe Theory dictates that 0/0 is simultaneously 1 AND 0, because anything divided by itself is 1, but 0 divided by anything is 0. Therefore, 0=1.

That's terrible math. Anything divided by zero is undefined. (Or in some mathematical systems dividing by zero makes something infinite, but you can cancel the infinity out by multiplying by zero, and that still doesn't imply that zero equals one.)

Also, unless you can direct me to a detailed explanation of "quantum fringe theory", I refuse to believe it's a specific thing.

What I can gather, Fringe Theory is some sort of theory that differs from mainstream theories, is neither majority nor a respected minority opinion.

So in essence, it's pseudoscience. I assume it's a theory that tries to combine quantum mechanics, quantum superposition to be exact, into mathematics. Which is more silly than confusing.

That's why I said I didn't believe it was a specific thing. There are quite a few "fringe theories" and some of them probably deal with quantum mechanics, but "fringe quantum theory" isn't even specific enough to turn up any specific results on Google.

Undefined is just layman's terms for "It can't be both, Quantum Science is Bollocks".
And Quantum Science is never specific, silly.

All right then, we will now run an explanatory video.
    Okaaay!
A neutrino has three masses, and can have three flavor states corresponding respectively to those masses' quantum superposition.
    Mu State
It repeatedly changes, sometimes into electron state, sometimes into tau state.
It undulates as if it were a sound wave when it changes. This is known as "neutrino oscillation".
This would not occur if neutrinos were massless.
The confirmation of this phenomenon won the Nobel Prize for...
