    You know, when I was a kid, I just closed my eyes, put a few drops on the tear duct near the nose, where it would puddle up, then open my eye and let the eye drops roll over my eyes. You might get a bit of dust you don't want in there, but it's something even a fidgety kid can do for themselves.
