For those old fashioned who still believe VR is "a fad like 3D" (yeah, because 3D content ceased to exist even in theaters). I'm fairly sure to say that if USA, Oculus and Facebook won't make it persist, Japan and worldwide porn will.

I remember the first coming of VR in the late 1990s,and it was just as expensive as now. At least things look more realistic this time around.

Have you tried comparing late-night anime DVD/Blu-Ray prices in Japan and the US? For the same show?

The preorder price in Japan was roughly 400-450 (exchange rates + taxes etc...) so pretty comparable to US prices. Now they are all sold out from official retailers and you can't get a copy for under 700.
