    I think it's called Frankfurt (Main) because it's in Frankfurt am Main (pronounced "mine"), as opposed to Frankfurt an der Oder, a different city on a different river.

    Yes, that's in Frankfurt am Main, which is also different from Frankfurt Hahn (the cheap airline airport), but that building is the main train station (Hbf, Hauptbahnhof), not a generic train station (Bahnhof).
