Is this Euphoria story?

What is this? 3rd series after Narukaka? or drama cd?

I'm very out of touch with the whole Aselia series. I remember checking out back in the day when there was just the first game Eien no Aselia. Then a short time later they released the spin off Spitan, some years later they released Seinarukana but I never got around to looking into that one. I did check out the CG sets to Seirei Tenshou and it's sequel Crystal Friends though I have no idea if those game have any relation to the Aselia world.

During the past five or so years I have seen Hitomaru release numerous bits of artwork that at first had me thinking it was a new game. Though it seems more like they're just making an on going stream of art/data books and music/drama CD's all with Hitomaru's art.

I personally wuld love to see the Aselia games get proper 3D remakes. The girls Hitomaru has created are all very cute, their outfits are very impressive and cool fantasy looking and the weapon designs are great too. All of which is lost a little in a simple 2D sprite game.

I completely missed these comments during the past week, not to mention all of Monki's uploads (which save me from worrying about scanning certain things).

Takase Naofumi (the concept/design guy behind Aselia and Seinarukana) started a doujin circle でっかい剣が好き (literally "I like huge swords") a few years ago to start independently producing Eternity Sword stuff, with Hitomaru as his artist. Like Monki said they've released a series of books and CDs; the first 3 books (later turned into a compilation) and 2 CDs were mostly related to the first game's world, the stuff since then (two books, another CD, and now two DVDs) has been new content related to Euphoria's story. This art here is the cover to the first DVD and most recent book.

I was confused too about whether it actually heralded a 3rd game or if it was going to exist solely through drama CDs and books, until I bought all the books and the first two CDs (didn't touch the DVDs yet because they're expensive as hell). It turns out the first of the two Euphoria books starts with a bunch of explanation of the series, and in there it clearly indicates that a game is in the works (it even goes into some discussion of the new mechanics that will be in it). Hell yes.

Took me long enough to find that out since I was focusing on the compilation book first, it's 300 pages and will take me forever to finish going through. It's part character profiles, part story, and it covers the War of the Four Princes, the actual first game (plus some side stuff with Lesteena's cousin ), a new conflict the spirits have to deal with after the Eternals are gone (during which Helion becomes overpowered as hell), and then finishes up with Temorin's backstory and a preview of Euphoria's sequel

Incidentally, Spitan is apparently non-canon, with that new story being the real sequel to events on Phantasmagoria. I recently finished playing Seirei Tenshou (and still working on the fandisc), it's basically just a prequel to Seinarukana (with the Normal End being canon, since the Crysts don't join the Brigade if their world is saved and everyone lives happily ever after) and doesn't connect to the rest of the series in any other way (I'm not sure that Naofumi is even involved with the spinoff games, which would explain matters).

Thanks for the info, had no idea how things were progressing with this series until now. I do have to confess though , I know nothing of the story and characters.

Back when I first found out about Eien no Aselia I simply enjoyed the art. This being the early 2000's I don't know if there were any translations for the game story around at the time. I did see the anime ova but I don't think that really got anywhere, I think they just dropped it at two episodes.

There should probably be full translated play throughs on youtube now, if I can find the time I'll try giving those a watch. I still think that rather than the old 2D sprite style Aselia would look great as a full 3D game, perhaps looking something like Star Ocean's 4 or 5. Hitomaru's character designs are beautiful right down to their nice fantasy clothes and weapons, a fully 3D game would let us admire them all the more.

It would be a lot better if Hitomaru actually did all the art for the games, Masaharu's art (which dominates Seinarukana) is way less appealing. The great thing about Seirei Tenshou is it's all Hitomaru art. I actually haven't even finished Seinarukana yet and I'm not sure I ever will now; during my 3rd route I started playing Seirei Tenshou and the Crysts were so much better than the Seinarukana heroines it wasn't even funny. I really should at least finish Narukana's route just to know anything important involving Euphoria, but I'd have to force myself at this point.

I can only hope that the 3rd game doesn't ruin the story being set up so far by these doujin works. Everything so far is about the girls interacting with each other, but the game will presumably be another isekai with male protagonist. Aselia was possibly the best isekai story I've ever read, but Seinarukana dropped the ball hard with cliche after cliche. People said all along the gameplay was better and the story worse, but that was an understatement.

I certainly wouldn't mind if it was some 3D action game instead (and it would probably be way less tedious and easier on my OCD) but it seems it's going to be basically the same system as the first two with new mechanics added.

thanks for details explain man, and i feel the same with you that Narukana's story feel... too cliche. no wonder i am on 2nd run and have no motivation at all, while for Aselie i cleared it almost twice of how many ending it had.
