Perhaps, but it's the whole concept behind the founding of the site. Though the second half is irrelevant; the subject and/or style should be Eastern, the person that draws it doesn't factor. There are other 'boorus out there that handle western styled art.

Should we have a "western artwork" tag? While this specific one is questionable a bit in quality (but maybe acceptable since it seems to be mimicking one punch man style), some of the western styled works flagged in the past were of good quality and were of anime style. Maybe it will help those who want to blacklist western style artwork, because to me it seems the push against these images often is due to preference, not necessarily quality or relevance.

So... this was flagged for quality and relevance, and you admit that it's got questionable quality and isn't relevant, but then say that clearly, it wasn't flagged for quality and relevance?

Regardless of your stanse on "is the wendy's mascot danbooru material" this image isn't. The arms aren't great, the thumb is weird, the shoulders have the puff so her neck is like twice as long as it should be, her face isn't great. This is more of a personal thing but she's also weirdly flat and the shirt just looks bizarre on her chest.

Even if it's mimicing a style it's not doing so well enough that one could tell at first glance.

I love the wendy's meme art, I even believe a fair bit of it belongs here. However, ozumii's art, and this piece in particular, doesn't really meet danbooru's quality standard.

Well it is relevant. It is anime style. The quality isn't great, but it isn't bad enough to be deleted, it is pretty average of danbooru (above average of most non-booru artwork). It's no Tony Taka, but it isn't Brony level either. It seems like if we are allowing western work on the same standard as eastern there should be a separate tag since there are a lot of people who just don't like it regardless if it isn't below booru standards.

its pretty clear at this point, that a lot of this stuff could accurately be called web_art, since the eastern and western influences are both present in the significant majority of things posted here. which is only natural in an environment like the web where cultures and themes can mix so freely.

unless you go for that sjw "cultural appropriation" bullshit that delusionally treats cultures as fixed and unchanging.
