I'm uncertain about Serval's dialog in panel 12. The actual subject of the line is unspoken, and since I haven't seen the episodes, I'm not sure if she's really referring to herself. She might mean Kaban or both of them, for all I know.

I presume she's talking about when she had to light a paper airplane on fire to distract the black cerulean and save Kaban in the last episode. The Friends are shown to almost universally be afraid of fire much like their base animal(s), so presumably in a non-desperate situation she still has trouble with fire.

You're probably correct.

That makes sense. Part of the problem was that I assumed a consistent right-to-left reading order, so I read Serval's dialog before Kaban's.
