I've been wondering the same thing myself.

It could be that they come from the "Suzumiya Haruhi-chan no Yuutsu" which does feature Yuki wearing them.

I saw these things many many years back somewhere else. Somebody had marked a character as being from Pita-ten because of them (the anime was new then) and somebody else said they were headphones you could buy. You could get them like pands heads and stuff too.

Pretty good marketing strategy IMO.
