I had no idea Montblanc was a German company, but their pens are practically top end.

Same as well, rather I didnt even know they were that good as writing instruments. Interestingly, should Faber-Castell be top since it IS technically the oldest in its trade?

Faber (Stein,6 mi from Nuremburg) was incorporated in 1761, Staedtler (Nuremburg)in 1835, but before companies were "guilds" and Staedtler claims their business goes back to 1662. In any case they started as pencilmakers.

Montblanc (Hamburg) has fame as a high end pen-maker. I guess Ido went with the fancy pen. All three companies sell their products in Japan.
