It's a helicopter destroyer, and I don't mean that as a sarcastic euphemism. The way these ships are built, they can't operate fast jets. I don't think they have the necessary structure for it.
I don't think they're really even amphibious assault ships like the America-class or Wasp-class since both of those are more designed to carry vehicles and aircraft than they are to be carriers of any type.

They can't operate any fixed wings that require more than VSTOL to launch and land - they're not built with the "ski ramp" or catapults. They can carry helicopters and rotating wing designs like the V-22, though. And, at least in theory, any VTOL designs.
