Are you sure those things are called "Magic Hand"? Google gives me nothing (relevant) back. It does if I search for "hand grabber" or "robot claw".

That's what we Japanese call them, so...

Indeed, 「マジックハンド」 now returns what I was looking for. It just bothered me I couldn't recall the name of that 90s toy. For the record, the proper western names according to Wikipedia are "reach extender", "grabber arm" or "helping hand".
