Oh, I understand this sentiment. The only real party I had with cake and candles, it was last year when I was 28, for no reason. I felt so fucking embarrassing. Nothing of the sort when I was kid. I was just getting some more candies. Or 4 cans of beer. I will never forgive my parents for not doing proper birthday party when I was 18. Nowadays... I'm just ignoring it, because I got so accustomed.
