Pretty hard not to when the guy literally put himself on the line to fight with them all despite the nuance that "shipgirls" aren't treated as "humans" in this series. Not only that but Reiji is equally strict and kind to everyone at his base.

For most of them they've basically been "born" and then met him right away. He's been their sole representative of Humanity: their imprint and their model. That's how Hibiki endedu pthe way she is, after all, and I doubt she's the only one, although few may have taken their personality imprinting to the degree that she has.
