Link better be careful. Mario could still possess the sword after all.
Mario has limited movement with certain objects. Even if he possessed the sword, Link can move him around with Magnesis to incapacitate him. He can parry if he's careful and he can stop Mario in time if he prefers that. It depends on who gets the first hit.
